ADDICTION

Overcoming your sugar addiction.


I'm addicted to sugar, I need a cure or a release from this constant urge for sugar.
I will always give in.
I don't think I go a day without some form of confectionary.


The current effect on my RAW ENERGY.
-Stomach pains.
-Low energy
-bad skin


Research
Our bodies are not designed to cope with large amounts of sugar.
Sugar gives you an initial high, then you crash, then you crave more and the cycle continues.
You get anxious, moody (sugar is a mood-altering drug) and eventually you feel exhausted.


Chronic problems include:
decreased immunity
some chronic infections
autoimmune diseases
chronic fatigue
candida.


Research suggests that one of the main causes for decreased immunity is that sugar inhibits the entry of VIctamin C into white blood cells. Decreasing the bodies ability to function and fight off illness and toxins in our body.



How addictive it really is...
The reason it is so hard to kick the habit is that over time our brains actually become addicted to the natural 'opioids' that are triggered buy sugar consumption. 

Like addiction to hard drugs, nicotine and alcohol, a diet loaded with sugar can generate excessive reward signals in the brain which override your self-control and lead to addiction.

diabetes
high blood pressure
weight gain
increased ageing

How to beat it:

Eat regularly
eat three meals and two snacks
(stops cravings due to steady blood sugar levels)

Choose RAW foods
select foods closest to its original form.
(makes it easier to avoid unknown added sugar)
eat lots of protein! EVERY MEAL
(meat, whey protein powder-takeoff, eggs, tofu, beans, nuts and seeds).
